We came up with the idea of the Poker.com championship to provide a poker carnival atmosphere to all online players that didn’t make it to the World Series of Poker this year. Of the 32 events, 24 will award points that count toward the Poker.com Champions leaderboard. At the conclusion of the events, an overall champion will be crowned and sent to represent Poker.com at both the Borgata Open WPT Tournament in September, and the 2007 Crown Aussie Millions in Melbourne, Australia. There’s something for everyone in the championship schedule, with special events just for European Players, American Players, Seniors, Ladies, Bloggers, Young Guns and even the Poker.com staff who kicks things off with the first event on Friday, June 30. All winners of championship events will receive the Poker.com Championship accolade for their player box and be entered into Event 32, the Tournament of Champions. Every player that has won a $10,000 Sunday tournament or a $20,000 freeroll at Poker.com will also be invited to play in the Tournament of Champions.
